LONDON: Move over, cotton undergarments. Ladies, just buy yourself an eco-friendly, green and glamorous alternative -- an underwear made from bamboo.
Well, a leading designer in Britain has launched a new range of undergarment made from bamboo which is pulped and then spun into fibres to be woven and dyed. Moreover, they are soft and strong.
"People often have the perception that environmentally sound clothing lacks style and comfort. With this new range, I have tried to show they can have both," 'The Sun' quoted the product's designer Joanna Ketterer as saying.
According to the 26-year-old who runs London-based firm Luva Huva, the new undergarment will be more eco-friendly than cotton as it is quick to grow, does not need pesticides and is biodegradable.
The undergarments are likely to be priced at around 30 pounds.
